Another public meeting is scheduled tonight to learn more about Arkansas River projects.

The Army Corps of Engineers and others working to develop a 42 mile stretch of the river in Tulsa County are holding several public meetings. They are informing people about Phase 2 of the project.

Phase 1 included input from the public on projects they would like to see along the river. Phase 2 is a rigorous study of those ideas. The hope is, eventually, more activity will take place along the river.

Cynthia Kitchens with the US Army Corps of Engineers: "These types of projects typically see a huge economic surge as they move along. I think Tulsa is moving toward the river. We're seeing that more and more and it's going to be recognized for the asset that it is."

Tonight's public meeting is at the Broken Arrow Community Center at 1500 South Main Street. It runs between 6 and 8.

Another meeting will be held in Sand Springs Thursday night.
