CANEY, Okla. (AP) _ A 73-year-old Atoka man is killed after the pickup he was riding in crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer along U-S highway 69 in Atoka County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Louis Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries.

The O-H-P says Taylor was a passenger in a pickup driven by his stepson -- 46-year-old Clint Austin of Atoka -- who was driving northbound in the southbound lane. The patrol says Austin and the driver of the tractor-trailer swerved into the median and collided head-on.

Austin was treated for minor head injuries at Atoka Memorial Hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released.

The patrol says they suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash.
