A mother and her four children were killed on a Broken Arrow highway Wednesday morning and Broken Arrow Police say slick roads may be to blame.
The accident happened on Highway 51 near 225th East Avenue. 28-year-old Shanna Tottress was eastbound when her Lincoln Towncar spun out of control into the path of an oncoming truck.
Shanna and three of her children died at the scene, another child died later at the hospital. The children were 15, 13, 8 and 5 years old.
Broken Arrow Police say Tottress was taking her children to school in Boynton. Two people in the truck were also hurt, but we don't know their condition.
Sapulpa Police say weather may have also played a role in a two-car collision that killed a Tulsa woman.
Brenda Baysinger died when her car hydroplaned on state Highway 66 in Sapulpa early Wednesday morning.
Her vehicle crossed the center line and was hit by a pickup truck. The other drivers' injuries were not serious.
