Some storeowners at Eastland Mall continue to hang on, despite the gradual decline in shoppers and stores at what was once a very popular mall. Now several of the big-name anchor stores have pulled out and the smaller stores are seeing too few customers.

The mall has a number of empty storefronts.

At a consignment store, "Curiosity," there were fewer customers than the owners hoped for this Christmas.

Kim Godsey, Curiosity Owner: Christmas wasn't quite as we expected it to be, we didn't hit our goals, but we were quite happy with what we did, you always want to do better.

Eastland Mall opened in 1986, and is now down to 42 stores, some of which are in the process of closing their doors. The mall claims 2 million visitors each year.
