PONCA CITY, Okla. (AP) A 47-year-old Ponca City man walking along State Highway 177 in Kay County is killed when he's hit by a van.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Jacob Donald Roughface was walking in the northbound lane of the highway when he was hit by a van driven by Walter Hare Junior of Red Rock.

The O-H-P says Roughface was thrown about 150 feet from the point of impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The patrol also reports that an odor of alcohol was detected on Roughface.
