OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An inmate who escaped from a minimum security prison over the weekend was apprehended Wednesday afternoon.
Forty-four-year-old Gary Obry Taylor was captured by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol canine unit at 3:30 after he escaped from the Rex Thompson Minimum Security Unit in Lexington on Sunday.
Oklahoma Department of Correction spokesman Jerry Massie said that Taylor was found north of Lexington near Slaughterville and was being taken back to the Lexington Detention Center.
Taylor, from Muskogee County was serving a five-year sentence from Muskogee County for knowingly concealing stolen property and possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony. He will now be facing additional charges.
