McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- The McAlester City Council will meet in special session Thursday to discuss the city's buying back of unused leave time from some city employees.
State and federal investigators are looking into the city's paying nearly $580,000 to City Manager Randy Green since 1999 for unused sick and vacation days. The city has also paid nearly $361,000 to buy back unused leave time from other department heads.
Councilman Greg Rock says the council will consider hiring a labor attorney to advise the council.
The special meeting is to begin at 5 Thursday afternoon at McAlester City Hall.
