HUGO, Okla. (AP) -- The manager of a Sonic restaurant in Hugo is recovering from gunshot wounds, and police there say they have a suspect in custody.

Hugo police say 33-year-old Marty Gilbert had just closed the store late Wednesday night when he was shot three times as he walked to his car.

Police Chief Darin Upton says a former assistant manager -- 22-year-old Jordan Bounds -- was taken into custody yesterday morning. He was arrested on complaints of shooting with intent to kill and armed robbery.

The shooting was the second at a southwest Oklahoma Sonic restaurant in recent years. In November 2003, the manager of the Sonic in Broken Bow -- Robin Brewer -- was shot and killed during a robbery.
