A man suspected in a string of recent armed robberies in Tulsa is behind bars. Tulsa Police arrested 22-year-old Adrian Alexander Tuesday on five complaints of armed robbery.
Detectives think Alexander hit several south Tulsa businesses since December 2nd, including the CD Warehouse at 71st and Mingo Monday. Officers say a witness gave police the suspect's tag number, and the investigation unfolded from there.
Tulsa Police Sgt Troy Rogers: "It's always satisfying to be able to do the traditional gumshoe-type investigation; everybody loves to be able to do that, to take and make something out of nothing. It doesn't occur that often, but when those officers get together and I mean officers that are out on patrol and various other agencies in town and our detectives. It normally culminates in an arrest and it's very satisfying when that occurs."
Officers say that, until now, Alexander only had a record of traffic violations. They say it seems to be a trend, people with little or no record moving up to more serious crimes.
