OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Governor Henry says he may be ready to appoint a seven-member Oklahoma Lottery Commission by the end of the month.
Creating the commission is the first step toward establishing a state lottery, which was approved by voters in November.
The commission will create the lottery and decide what games will be offered. A director and staff must also be hired.
Henry says he's recruiting and reviewing applicants to the commission and wants to take his time to find the right people for the job.
State Finance Director Scott Meacham says a predicts a the lottery will start by next October.
