OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Although Republicans took over the Oklahoma House while Democrats still control the Senate, legislative leaders from both parties say they expect a smooth process during the upcoming session.

Senate President Pro Tem Cal Hobson and House Speaker Todd Hiett say they have come to an agreement on deadlines for the session that begins February seventh.

Hobson says the two sides may disagree on politics, but they agree on the process for resolving those differences.

The two say Senate appropriations chairman Mike Morgan and his House counterpart Chris Benge (BENJ) have already started budget negotiations.

Both chairmen say their first priority will be passage of the appropriation for common education.
