OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A man was treated at an Oklahoma City hospital after he was struck by a car while leading law enforcement officers on a pursuit.
An Oklahoma County deputy tried to stop a man Tuesday afternoon on a traffic violation at I-35 and Hefner Road, but the driver sped away.
Officers with the Central Oklahoma Metro Interdiction Team followed the man to a dirt road, where he jumped from his car and was struck by a Jones police officer's patrol car.
Team director Larry Baker says about the same time, Oklahoma City police Sergeant Kevin Kyte also was struck by a Jones officer's car.
Baker says the bruised officer was taken to Mercy Health Center for observation, while the fleeing man was taken to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say they found 300 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle.
