Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies are busy trying to figure out what caused a driver to go airborne and wreck his truck near Glenpool.

The man claims he was shot earlier and the wound caused him to crash.

6 in the Morning reporter Omar Villafranca says the call came in a little before 1 AM. The report was a shooting at 181st and Peoria. Investigators there say a man went up to a house and claimed he had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they found an empty blue pick-up truck wrecked in a ditch near the house. Inside the truck were blood stains and evidence of alcohol.

While deputies were searching the area, a call seven miles away in Bixby, came in that a man was shot. When investigators arrived there, they found 25 year old Jason Hamilton bleeding from his abdomen. Hamilton was taken by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital, where doctors discovered he was not shot, but had injuries as if he were in a car wreck.

Deputies believe Hamilton was the driver of the truck. They're still trying to figure out how he made his way several miles while hurt. Hamilton also had an injured dog with him, it was missing a leg. They're still trying to figure out where the dog came from and what happened to it.

Hamilton was treated at the hospital and then promptly arrested for burglary and outstanding warrants.
