OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A former state auditor and inspector is the new top financial official for the state House.

House Speaker-designate Todd Hiett yesterday announced the hiring of Tom Daxon, the finance director under former Governor Frank Keating.

Daxon will be paid $98,500 annually as director of the Office of Budget and Performance Review. He will replace fired House fiscal director Greg Sawyer.

Hiett says Daxon will streamline the government and work toward a new tax policy.

Other hirings include Rick Farmer as House committee staff director; Chad Warmington as leadership assistant and Dustin Green as chief sergeant.

Two other House officials have been fired and two have retired.
