Reports of rape are on the rise in Tulsa and too often, the victims are left with shattered lives and no where to turn.
So Tuesday, local lawmakers met with representatives of Tulsa's Call Rape program. The lawmakers want to write legislation to fund rape clinics in Oklahoma.
State representative Sue Tibbs of Tulsa: "More of a crisis than I thought, much education needs to be done."
Statistics from the Tulsa Police Department show 265 rape cases through September. That's just one less than the number of rapes reported in all of 2000.
