STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- A convicted sex offender accused of committing a lewd act and giving tattoos to teenage girls has been arrested.

George Lightfoot was being held Monday in the Payne County Jail on several complaints. They include committing a lewd act with a minor, giving three tattoos and failing to register as a convicted sex offender.

Lightfoot's tattooing activities were reported by a mother who discovered a tattoo on her daughter. Tattooing has been illegal in Oklahoma since 1957.

Payne County Sheriff Carl Hiner says authorities know of three girls, all juveniles, whom they believe received tattoos from Lightfoot. He would not disclose their ages.

The lewd act complaint stems from one of those tattooing sessions.
