CLINES CORNERS, N.M. (AP) _ A 78-year-old Oklahoma man has died after the recreation vehicle he was driving was struck by a tractor-trailer rig.

The driver of the recreational vehicle had apparently pulled onto the shoulder of westbound Interstate 40 near Clines Corners, New Mexico.

State Police Lieutenant Jimmy Glascock says the R-V was struck when it began moving and attempted to cross traffic today.

The driver's name and hometown were withheld because authorities had not notified family.

The driver of the tractor-trailer rig, 43-year-old Van Hall of Sulfur Springs, Texas, was transported by ambulance to an Albuquerque hospital. His injuries were serious but not believed to be life threatening.

The accident closed down Interstate 40 while the wreckage was being cleared.
