NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ University of Oklahoma Police say they hope to finish this week their investigation of an incident involving a Nebraska football player and an OU student.
Adam Merritt of the OU spirit group the Ruf/Neks was treated and released at a Norman hospital after what witnesses say was an attack by Cornhusker offensive lineman Darren DeLone.
A statement from Nebraska's athletic department refers to the incident as a ``collision.''
It occurred after pre-game drills prior to Saturday's OU-Nebraska football game.
Witnesses say DeLone rammed his helmet into Merritt's face then shoved him into a brick wall. Merritt lost two teeth and was knocked unconscious.
OUPD Sergeant Gary Robinson says a report will be sent to the Cleveland County district attorney's office for a decision on whether to file charges.
