MOORE, Okla. (AP) _ Moore police are investigating a missing Hampshire show pig they believe was stolen from its pen and killed.
Moore High School student Justin Magby -- a member of the FFA -- says he noticed the pig was missing from a pen Monday morning.
Magby says he found blood in the pen that holds three of his show pigs, and one of the pigs was missing. One of the other pigs had a large laceration to its neck.
The 4-month-old Hampshire pigs are estimated to be worth $1,000 each.
Moore Police Sergeant Todd Strickland says it appears the pig was slaughtered and dragged off. He says a home-made spear was found near the pen.
The injured pig was taken to the veterinarian and is expected to recover.
