OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma City officials are still trying to determine what caused a minivan to catch fire on a busy Oklahoma City roadway.
Oklahoma City Fire Department Major Steve Lumry says a male victim was killed when the minivan he was driving caught fire at about 4 Thursday afternoon at an intersection on Northwest Expressway.
Lumry says the van was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived. An Oklahoma City police officer and two bystanders tried to get the man out of the fiery van, but could not get close enough.
The fire tied up traffic for nearly 2 1/2 hours Thursday.
Officials have not been able to identify the man and say they may know more after the medical examiner runs additional tests.
