A fight during a game has led to the suspension of three Tulsa high school football players for the rest of the school year.
The Claremore, Tulsa Science High football game ended early last Friday night because of a fight. Now one TSST parent is upset about the punishments.
Tulsa Public Schools disciplined seven players in all for getting involved in the brawl. A video tape obtained by the News on 6 shows TSST players throwing punches and swinging helmets. And those images back-up the decision to suspend three players for the rest of the year. Four more players will sit out two games.
The mother of suspended player Daniel Jones says the district is not taking into account that her son was pushed to the ground. Daniel’s mom Dede Jones: "I do not feel l this is justified right here at all. I know my son hit I know he was defending his team and his coaches as well so I don’t feel like they were wrong."
TSST's principal says he stands behind the decisions. The Jones' say they will appeal.
