ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) _ An unlikely culprit is to blame for a stuck throttle and a near traffic accident in Ardmore.
It seems a rat had nested in Carol Windham's 1984 Chevrolet van and when she went to step on the brakes at an intersection, one of the rat's pecans fell off the engine block and caused the throttle to stick open.
When mechanic Jeff Rutledge opened the hood he found a stash of nearly 50 pecans.
Windham says she checked the engine compartment of her other vehicle when she got home and found more pecans and half an apple.
Windham says she put peanut butter on a rat trap on one of the tires.
The next morning she found a dead rat.
