MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- The fire chief in Muskogee has again failed to follow city requirements to take sealed bids on projects costing more than $2,000.
The Muskogee newspaper reports Chief Robert Hutson did not take bids on a major renovation of a fire station that will cost more than $2,000.
Hutson was reprimanded last year by the city manager for similar actions.
Also, electrical work on the building is reportedly being done without a licensed electrician and no building permit was obtained.
Hutson says it's his understanding that a previous bid advertisement for a different fire station project satisfied the bid requirement.
Hutson says he turned in the application for the building permit late Wednesday afternoon.
