The holiday mailing season deadline is coming up and if you'd like to get something to our troops for the holidays, the Blue Star Mothers may be able to help.
They have already mailed 11,000 boxes overseas, and plan to mail a thousand more for the holidays. Each one will contain all the regular items plus a stocking, an ornament and some candy.
Blue Star Mom Barbara Porter: "If they collect the stuff, the church groups, the schools the businesses, do drives for Christmas. We can package the stuff and get it over to the troops."
One of their greatest needs is money for postage, some area schools are collecting pennies for postage.
