A jury has recommended a life without parole sentence for a man with a history of violence against his girlfriends.

Mark McCorkle was convicted Thursday of fatally stabbing Lesley Lamborn last year in their Tulsa apartment. She sustained 17 stab wounds.

His attorney claimed McCorkle was defending himself at the time, but a police detective said he saw no injuries on McCorkle.
