OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Long-time Pittsburg County District Judge Steven Taylor was formally sworn in Friday as an Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice.
Taylor presided earlier this year over the state murder trial of Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols. He was appointed to the state's highest court by Governor Henry.
Taylor is a former Marine and mayor of McAlester. He's served for more than 20 years as an associated and district judge.
He received his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma.
He was sworn in by Chief Justice Joseph Watt.
