Two opposing state Senate candidates agree on one thing, outside groups have hijacked the race.

Democrat Tom Adelson[pictured left] is running for state Senate against Republican, Dewey Bartlett[pictured right]. They've both been attacked in campaign ads by outside groups hoping to tilt the balance of power in the state Senate.

Tom Adelson: "I think Oklahomans and Tulsans deserve candidates they can feel good about and a process that respects the dignity of public service, so I'm disappointed."

Dewey Bartlett: "This whole partisan stuff gives people a reason to say no, it gets in the way, and unfortunately gives voters a real bad perception of what government service is like."

Right now, the state House and Senate are controlled by Democrats, but there are enough open seats with competitive races that it could go over to the Republicans.
