NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ December convocations for University of Oklahoma students who graduate at midterm will go on as scheduled.

OU President David Boren is dropping plans to cancel the convocations scheduled by the colleges of arts and sciences, business, journalism and education.

Boren had said the December ceremonies would diminish the importance of spring graduation ceremonies.

But Boren changed his mind after hearing complaints from students, including one whose father is taking leave from his job in the Middle East to attend the ceremony.
