McALESTER, Okla. (AP) _ Authorities say an inmate who walked away from a minimum-security prison in McAlester is back behind bars.

Prison officials say 29-year-old Javier Barrera was discovered by local law enforcement officers walking along railroad tracks less than a mile from the prison.

Oklahoma State Penitentiary spokeswoman Lee Mann says Barrera was back in custody only a few hours after he escaped last night.

Mann says Barrera will likely face additional charges of escape.

Barrera was in prison on convictions of attempted larceny and burglary and was scheduled for release in September 2005.
