OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ More than 17,000 doses of flu vaccine for children with medical risks is being shipped to Oklahoma.

The state Health Department says the vaccine is going to pediatricians, family doctors and county health clinics. Shots could be given as early as Tuesday.

The vaccine is for those between 6-months and 19-years old who have heart or lung disease, diabetes, asthma, cancer or one of several other chronic medical problems.

The doses were bought through the federal Vaccines for Children program.
