SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) _ Ricky Williams wants to play again after abruptly retiring from the Miami Dolphins last summer because he disagreed with the NFL over a disputed drug test.
Attorney David Cornwell says the league took a position on the test that they thought was inappropriate.
He met today with two NFL officials and a union representative, trying to resume William's career.
Cornwell says he's going to make a formal proposal for Williams to resume his career as soon as possible.
An arbitrator ruled last month that the 27-year-old running back must repay more than $8.6-million to the Dolphins for breaching his contract. Cornwell says as far as he's concerned, that has nothing to do with Williams' desire to return.
