STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ The mayor of Stillwater admits he was wrong for not leaving a note on a parked car he hit while backing out of a parking space.
Mayor Bud Lacy pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor and received a $100 fine and a 1-year deferred sentence.
Lacy says he paid his fine and court costs, took an accident avoidance class and completed 10 hours of community service.
Leaving the scene of a property damage accident without providing personal and insurance information is a misdemeanor in Oklahoma. Court documents show the offense is punishable by a fine of $10 to $100 or up to ten days in jail.
