TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- US Senate candidate Tom Coburn's campaign is charging that Brad Carson is helping fellow Democrats stall energy policy in the Senate.
Coburn appeared in Tulsa Monday with US Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham and Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas. The Muskogee Republican outlined his energy plan to reduce America's dependence on foreign oil.
Brownback and Abraham say Carson will join Senate Democrats in opposing President Bush's energy bill. The legislation includes a controversial provision to allow oil drilling in the Alaskan wilderness.
Senate Democrats have filibustered the bill.
Carson's campaign says Coburn was bringing in another politician from Washington to save his campaign.
