Several Tulsa County students are digging deep in their pockets to support our troops overseas.
It's called Pennies For Postage and Monday, Glenpool High school presented their collection of pennies to Tulsa's Blue Star Moms. The money will be used to ship boxes of goodies to US soldiers in Iraq.
Glenpool students held a contest to see which class could raise the most money. Mr. Thompson's history and government class won, raising $191.
Glenpool student Meredith Lane: “It's a penny drive, but I'm surprised to see 10's and 20's, grateful for the support they've given."
Students at Glenpool raised a total of $537. That will pay to ship about 20 boxes to Iraq.
More than 40 schools across the state are participating in the Pennies for Postage fundraiser.
