OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The independent counsel in the Whitewater probe during the Clinton presidency is coming to Oklahoma

The Center for Freedom Studies at Oklahoma Christian University is sponsoring a visit by Kenneth W. Starr, who will deliver the keynote address November first for a dinner at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.

Starr's Whitewater investigation led to the impeachment of President Clinton.

He has been hired by The New York Times to defend two reporters whose phone records are sought by the federal government.

Starr was a judge for the District of Columbia circuit on the U-S Court of Appeals from 1983 to 1989. Early in his career, he clerked for Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren -E- Burger.

Those wanting to attend the dinner will have to pay 100 dollars.
