JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ After this year's Super Bowl ``wardrobe malfunction'' by entertainer Janet Jackson, the National Football League has chosen a veteran producer for the next Super Bowl halftime show here next February.

Don Mischer Productions has been named producer of the Ameriquest Mortgage Super Bowl XXXIX halftime show, the NFL announced Thursday.

This is Mischer's second time to produce a Super Bowl halftime show. In 1993, produced the show for Super Bowl XXVII, when the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Buffalo Bills. The show featured a performance by Michael Jackson.

The lineup of performers and show details for the Feb. 6 Super Bowl will be announced later.

The NFL has promised tighter control of the Super Bowl halftime show after singer Justin Timberlake pulled open Jackson's shirt during last February's game, revealing her breast to 89 million viewers.

Mischer most recently produced his eighth Emmy Awards Show on Sept. 19 along with the Democratic National Convention in Boston. Mischer was also the producer of the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

As president of Don Mischer Productions, Mischer has been honored with 13 prime-time Emmy Awards, nine Director's Guild Awards, three NAACP Image Awards, a Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting and Europe's Golden Rose of Montreaux.
