Tulsa Police and Tulsa County Deputies teamed up to capture two suspects in an early morning armed robbery. The News on 6's Omar Villafranca says a little before 8 Monday morning two suspects armed with a gun robbed the Auto Zone in the 4200 block of Southwest Boulevard.
The suspects then fled the store on foot. About two blocks down the street, a Tulsa Sheriff's Deputy saw the two suspects and approached them. Tulsa County Sheriff's Sgt. Willie Lewis says one suspect gave up immediately, another continued to flee. Lewis says the fleeing suspect then turned on the officer so the officer fired a shot at him but missed.
The suspect who was fired at was taken to the hospital complaining of chest pains. A gun was recovered where the suspects were nabbed. No word yet if this robbery is connected to the string of armed robberies at auto parts stores around town.
