OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The chairman of the American Conservative Union has given his endorsement to the Republican Tom Coburn.

David Keene, standing alongside Coburn at a Capitol news conference, says the Muskogee doctor had a 97% rating with the Virginia-based organization during his three terms in Congress.

He said Coburn's opponent, Democrat Brad Carson, had a 42% rating.

Keene says it takes a score of 80% from the ACU to be qualified as a conservative by the organization.
