Jenks teacher wins special award

Two unsuspecting Oklahoma educators got a big surprise Tuesday. Jenks West Intermediate teacher Melissa Parker was awarded the Milken Family Foundation Educator award. Along with that comes $25,000.

Two unsuspecting Oklahoma educators got a big surprise Tuesday. Jenks West Intermediate teacher Melissa Parker was awarded the Milken Family Foundation Educator award. Along with that comes $25,000.

Melissa Parker: "I watch wheel of fortune and I think wow wouldn't it be great to win $25,000, little did I know."

The award is given to outstanding educators who do exceptional work for their school.

The only other Oklahoman to receive the award was a teacher in Harrah.
