OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The average price of gas is up slightly in Oklahoma but is falling nationwide. AAA Oklahoma says the average price for a gallon of self-serve unleaded is $2.862 cents Wednesday up from $2.86 Tuesday. One month ago the average was $3.28 per gallon.

The average in Oklahoma City is just under $2.80 a gallon while Tulsans are paying an average of just over $2.85 per gallon.

The statewide average is tied with New Jersey for fourth-lowest in the nation. South Carolina has the lowest average at just under $2.80 per gallon while the highest is $3.41 per gallon in Hawaii.

The nationwide average is $2.998 per gallon and is below $3 a gallon for the first time since May 3.
