Three inmates who walked away from a minimum-security prison in Woodward County are back behind bars. Oklahoma Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie says the three were discovered missing at about 10 o’clock Sunday night at the William S. Key Correctional Center in Fort Supply. A response team from the prison and a tracking dog caught up with the escapees about 3 p.m. Monday, seven miles north of the facility.
Massie says Bruce Leverich, Joseph Sherfield and Dale Beaumont apparently just walked away from the prison which has no security fence.
Massie says Leverich was convicted of assault and battery, Sherfield of burglary and Beaumont of larceny.
