DURANT, Okla. (AP) -- A development planned for the shores of Lake Texoma still will be built even though the Oklahoma Legislature did not approve any incentives for the project.
Developers of the Pointe Vista Development had asked for tax credits to expand the proposed construction, but the Legislature's session ended without those credits being approved.
Pointe Vista Development has purchased 750 acres surrounding the lake, which sits on the state line between southern Oklahoma and north Texas.
Scott Fischer, the development administrator, says that developers on the Texas side of the lake are getting help from the city of Denison for a convention center.
Fischer says that the Oklahoma developers were asking for the incentives for some of the public structures and that such help would have added to the development.
