TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ A federal judge has sided with the state of Oklahoma on several legal challenges brought by Tyson Foods and others in the poultry industry in an attempt to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson.
U.S. District Judge Gregory Frizzell denied the poultry industry's requests to dismiss the case on procedural grounds.
Edmondson accuses 13 poultry companies of polluting the Illinois River watershed with excessive amounts of poultry waste.
The poultry industry also wants a jury selected from outside the federal court's district. A hearing on that request has not yet been set.
