NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ The University of Oklahoma is joining a project that intends to reduce global warming by cutting greenhouse emissions.
OU is the first university in the state to formally sign the Climate Commitment and is one of about 280 colleges and universities nationwide promising to fight global warming.
OU President David Boren says among the steps the university is taking is to get more wind-generated power and officials are auditing the energy use of all buildings.
OU also is using more vehicles that are fueled by natural gas, ethanol and electricity.
