BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) _ Former Oklahoma State graduate assistant Dale Ploessl has been hired as the offensive coordinator at Montana State.
Ploessl played for new Montana State football coach Rob Ash at Iowa's Drake University, and has coordinated the Bulldogs' running game for the past three seasons.
Ploessl is the first assistant coach to join Ash at MSU. Ash plans to assemble the rest of his staff of assistants this week, and says current Bobcat assistants will have a chance to interview.
Ploessl coached quarterbacks and coordinated the California University of Pennsylvania offense before returning for his second stint on the Drake coaching staff in 2004.
Before that, the former Drake defensive lineman was a graduate assistant at Iowa State and Oklahoma State.
