WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- The Tulsa Drillers' late-inning rally fell short as they lost 4-3 to Wichita in a Double-A matchup in Wichita.
The Drillers trailed 4-0 entering the final two innings Saturday night and scored two runs in the eighth and another in the ninth. They loaded the bases with one out in the final frame, but couldn't bring across the tying run.
The loss trimmed the first-place Drillers lead in the North Division standings of the Texas League to only a half-game over second-place Springfield.
Tulsa and Wichita will continue their series tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
