Oklahoma-Bound Griffin Leads Sooner State Team To All-Star Win

SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) -- University of Oklahoma recruit Blake Griffin scores 27 points to lead the Sooner State squad past Texas 137-102 Saturday in the annual Faith 7 all-star basketball game.

Griffin, who led Oklahoma Christian School in Edmond to four straight state prep titles, also had nine rebounds and six assists during his 20-minute stint.

Eight of Oklahoma's 10 players scored in double figures, including Griffin's future teammate at OU, Cade Davis of Elk City, who had 18 points.

George Washington signee Xavier Alexander of Midwest City had 20 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three blocked shots, while Oklahoma State-bound Nick Sidorakis of Jenks had 16 points.

For Texas, Russell Permenter of Temple, who has signed with Texas-San Antonio, had a team-high 17 points.

DeAndre Brown of Fort Worth Dunbar, a Texas-Arlington recruit, had 15 points.
