OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A total of 46 players with ties to Oklahoma were taken in the Major League Baseball draft that ended Friday.
Eight of the players were from state high schools, and Oklahoma State set a school record with eleven players drafted this year.
Among those drafted today were left fielder Ty Wright, who went to the Chicago Cubs in the seventh round, and center fielder Keanon Simon, who went to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 25th round.
The Cowboys also had six pitchers drafted Friday.
Six players from the University of Oklahoma were taken, while Oral Roberts and Oklahoma City University each had five players chosen in the two-day draft.
