The Creek County Sheriff’s office has seized a number of what it calls illegal gaming machines at several convenience stores in Creek County. Sheriff Steve Toliver says deputies seized four gaming machines in Mannford and Olive this week.
Toliver says store owners have told the sheriff’s office that the suppliers told store owners the gaming machines were legal because of a state tax sticker affixed to some of the devices. Deputies, according to Sheriff Toliver, inspected the machines prior to seizure and determined the machines were illegal under state law. Deputies removed a total of $2,703 from the four seized machines.
Toliver says his office will continue to seize all illegal gaming machines that are found inside of Creek County, and target for prosecution the suppliers of the illegal devices. The sheriff is asking unsuspecting store owners to be aware and ask questions when approached by companies wanting to install the machines in businesses.
Business owners are encouraged to call the Creek County Sheriff’s office in Sapulpa if they have any questions.
