OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry has named Secretary of Commerce and Tourism Natalie Shirley as the new director of the Department of Commerce.

Shirley will replace Amy Polonchek, who is leaving the post for a position with the Meridian Technology Center for Business Development. Shirley will continue her role as a member of Henry's cabinet.

The Oklahoma State University graduate is the former president and chief executive officer of ICI Mutual Insurance Group in Washington, D.C. She earned a law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1982.
